Insane in the Brain ☁️ . @VancouverPD Marine Unit patrols False Creek while keeping an eye on the 4/20 protest happening on Sunset Beach. A flashback to spring of 2016 when cannabis was still illegal and the government had just promised to legalize it the following spring. It didn't happen until mid fall when a rushed and flawed rollout was mismanaged here in British Columbia. The government was only able to open one store and it's 356 km away from Vancouver. To this day, that store is the only "government run" store open in the province. Tomorrow will be the first 4/20 event with cannabis legalized here in Canada. West coast hip hop rap superstars @CypressHill will be there to celebrate. That being said, if you're heading down to the park and beach on Saturday, please be respectful and don't make a mess by trashing our beaches. Cigarette butts and roaches don't go in the sand nor the lawn. Puff, Pass & Pack It Out 🚬 🚮 . Shot from across False Creek at Vanier Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ April 20, 2016 . . . . . . . . So Far Away 👁👁 . Where's Waldo? I don't know but there's so many familiar sights in this cluster of lights at blue hour yesterday. Looking over the Burrard Inlet and English Bay to Third Beach (lower left), Ferguson Point and The Teahouse (lower right) in Stanley Park. English Bay Beach and Sunset Beach (mid frame) If you look close enough, you can see the Seawall & Inukshuk. Just above, the mouth of False Creek, the Burrard Bridge and Granville Bridge aligning as one with Granville Island in between. The taller buildings above that, the magnificent Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and the enormous Health Sciences Centre group of medical facilities. VGH is Canada's second largest hospital (after The Ottawa Hospital) The tree line above is Queen Elizabeth Park, on the right you can see the lights of 'Seasons in the Park' restaurant and a tiny slice of the Bloedel Conservatory's purple dome. Way in the distance, part of Lummi Island (I believe) and other islands in the State of Washington, USA.
