Half Buck Moon 🦌🌕 Last night's crazy full moon rise over Burrard Inlet and Vancouver Harbour. I didn't think I'd get a chance to see it because of the cloud cover but it full-on appeared after it rose above the clouds. As it made it's way into the blue hour sky, this Full Buck Moon completely disappeared behind a large cloud that was almost perfectly aligned with the Lions Gate Bridge deck. Deep Forest🌲⛺ A lightning fast getaway along a glacier fed river in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District of British Columbia, about an hour north of Vancouver. Good times away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the glare of computer & phone screens... just relaxing and listening to some good tunes with friends by the campfire. This is a 30 second exposure with my headlight creating a light trail around the campfire. A Whale's Tale 🐳 Yesterday's exciting day hosted by @VanWhaleWatch and their awesome knowledgeable staff, Sara and Captain Scott. Our 12 passenger zodiac departed from Fisherman's Wharf in the historic Steveston Village and made our way across the Salish Sea to the beautiful Gulf Islands near Victoria, BC. This female Humpback Whale was spotted just off the shores of Saturna Island. She was playing with her calf and teaching her the ropes! An amazing site to see and puts ocean life in a whole new perspective. Later on we were lucky to see a few pods of Transient Orcas (aka Killer Whales), seals, sea lions and up close to a bald eagle's nest on the jetty off the shores of Richmond, BC. I strongly recommend going whale watching at least once in your life. For the cost of a concert ticket, you'll have memories to last a lifetime. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would like to thank @VanWhaleWatch again for their most excellent tour. Insane in the Brain ☁️ . @VancouverPD Marine Unit patrols False Creek while keeping an eye on the 4/20 protest happening on Sunset Beach. A flashback to spring of 2016 when cannabis was still illegal and the government had just promised to legalize it the following spring. It didn't happen until mid fall when a rushed and flawed rollout was mismanaged here in British Columbia. The government was only able to open one store and it's 356 km away from Vancouver. To this day, that store is the only "government run" store open in the province. Tomorrow will be the first 4/20 event with cannabis legalized here in Canada. Monster Moon🌖⛰ . Last night's moonrise over Vancouver. This is the Waning Gibbous of the Super Snow Full Moon at 98% illumination. I was surprised at the size of this monster as it peeked out from behind Blanchard Peak in the Golden Ears Provincial Park. Looking across English Bay at English Bay Beach and the West End of Vancouver. From where I stood, the Shaw Tower was 7.5km (4.7 miles) away from me. The peak was 53km (33 miles) away. A Vancouver Gem 💎🕰 . This is the old Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Building on the corner of Granville and Hastings. It's now home to the Birks company which was established in 1879. Their original building, built in 1912, was on the corner of Georgia and Granville and was demolished in 1974. The four faced clock you see is over 100 years old and is a Vancouver landmark.
